RAYMOND PATERNOSTER, CHARLES R. TITTLE., SOCIAL DEVIANCE AND CRIME - RAYMOND PATERNOSTER, Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland,. College Park. He has conducted research related to criminological theory and the application of quantitative methods in criminological research. He also has a long standing interest in issues related to capital punishment. His collaboration with Professor Tittle goes back many years. CHARLES R. TITTLE is Professor in the Department of Sociology at Washington State University, and former editor of CRIMINOLOGY. Harriet Zuckerman, gives a thorough, scholarly analysis of scientific misconduct in "Deviant Behavior and Social Control in Science" (pp. 87-138 in Deviance and Social Change , Sage Publications, Beverly Hills, Calif., 1977). Frederick Grinnell has a chapter on scientific misconduct in the second edition of The Scientific Attitude (Guilford Press, New York, 1992).
