Sociology of Health and Illness is an international journal which publishes
sociological articles on all aspects of health, illness, medicine and health care. We
welcome empirical and theoretical contributions in this field in the form of original
research reports or review articles. - blackwellpublishing.com/shil_enhanced/

sociological concepts and methods to the understanding of health, illness, and medicine in
their social context. Its editorial policy favors those manuscripts that build and test
knowledge in medical sociology. - jstor.org/journals/00221465.html
Culture, Health & Sexuality is a leading international environment for the
publication of papers in the fields of culture, health and sexuality. The journal is broad
and multi-disciplinary in focus. Culture, Health and Sexuality takes a genuinely
international stance in its consideration of key issues and concerns, as reflected in the
composition of the editorial board. More specifically, the journal aims to: Provide an
international forum for the analysis of culture and health, health beliefs and systems,
social structures and divisions, and the implications for these for sexual health, and
individual, collective and community wellbeing. Provide an environment in which the policy
and practice implications of research in the fields of culture and health, and culture and
reproductive and sexual health, can be considered. Offer a setting for critical scholarly
debate about how best to analyse the cultural dimensions of health issues in general, and
reproductive and sexual health issues in particular. -

Disability & Society is an international journal providing a focus for debate
about such issues as human rights, discrimination, definitions, policy and practices. It
appears against a background of change in the ways in which disability is viewed and
responded to.
Definitions of disability are more readily acknowledged to be relative; segregated
approaches are seen as inadequate and unacceptable - placing greater emphasis on community
care and inclusion. However, policy intentions may not have the desired effects on the
realities of everyday practice and policy changes themselves may be merely cosmetic, or
appropriate but unfounded.
The Journal publishes articles that represent a wide range of perspectives including the
importance of the voices of disabled people. - tandf.co.uk/journals/carfax/09687599.html
Ethnicity & Health is an international academic journal designed to meet the
world-wide interest in the health of ethnic groups. It embraces original papers from the
full range of disciplines concerned with investigating the relationship between
'ethnicity' and 'health' (including medicine and nursing, public health, epidemiology,
social sciences, population sciences, and statistics). The journal also covers issues of
culture, religion, gender, class, migration, lifestyle and racism, in so far as they
relate to health and its anthropological and social aspects.
The journal aims to:
Deal with practice and policy in a thoughtful and critical way.
Present empirical material in a way that considers theoretical issues in addition to
implications for policy and practice, given the contested nature of both 'ethnicity' and
'health'.
Address the methodological problems that face both qualitative and quantitative studies in
multi-cultural societies. - tandf.co.uk/journals/carfax/13557858.html
Mental Health, Religion & Culture provides an authoritative forum and a single point
of reference for the growing number of professionals and academics working in the
expanding field of mental health and religion.

mental health and aspects of religion and culture, and discusses conceptual and
philosophical aspects. Contributions are encouraged from a range of disciplines including:
psychiatry, psychology, anthropology, sociology and other social sciences, philosophy,
theology and religious studies, community and social work, counselling and pastoral work.
Published papers include clinical and other case material, observational and interview
material, survey, questionnaire, psychometric and other quantified data. There is also

philosophical analysis are welcomed.
